In the center of Westfield, MA within a vibrant area adjacent to the Olver Transportation Center sits an underutilized parking lot. Facing a housing crisis and wanting to add to the urban fabric of the city a mixed-use project was proposed. This development consisting of both market rate and affordable family housing units over retail, restaurant and office space.

The goal with the design of the project was to have the new building both blend into the existing historic fabric of the city as well as having it stand out as a new construction. The buff brick color was chosen to compliment the surrounding buildings while modern elements set it apart. Circulation around the building was a primary consideration to allow for the public to access the Olver Transportation Center which is located behind the building. Green spaces behind the building are design to connect existing public ways and provide outdoor recreation for both the residents and the public.
